Music Count Us In

Posted on October 30, 2015

Every year, Music Australia runs a Songwriting Competition, open to all Australian students. A small group of students are selected to work with a celebrity mentor and our program ambassador, John Foreman, to write that year’s program song. The song is then recorded by students and released to all registered schools. After months of learning and rehearsing the song, as well as engaging in music education activities, all registered schools sing the same song, at the same time, right across the nation, celebrating in classrooms, school halls, shopping centres, arts centres, parks and beaches, public spaces and Parliament House! Each year an event is live streamed to participating schools so that half a million kids can count down together and sing the song that stops the nation! This year, Rockdale Public School took part in this fantastic event and had a fantastic time.

Special thanks to Miss Yeung for registering our school and organising this event.
