Education Week

Posted on August 9, 2017

Education week was an opportunity to highlight the achievements of Rockdale Public School by putting the spotlight on our students, our teachers and you, our community who supported them. The theme this year was “I Learn, We Learn” promoting high expectations, personalised learning, wellbeing and creating strong ties with our community.
You could see the joy in our students’ faces as their family members came to join them in the classroom. This was a wonderful moment for the students to share with their families what they do each day at school, showing pride in their achievements.
The performances were wonderful – such a tribute to the teachers and performers for dedicating their time to lunch-time practises. They are looking forward to showcasing their performances again during SPAF week. We wish to thank, also, the school leaders who were our comperes for the showcase both at school and at Rockdale Plaza. You did it with great poise!
We hope you enjoyed the Art Expo. Our Expo team were very devoted to ensuring the students’ works were showcased professionally and that the purchasing process was as user friendly as possible. We received many positive comments from our parents and family members as they wandered around the gallery with the children. The Expo raised close to $3000 for our school which will be put towards resources for your children’s learning. We thank the class teachers for the wonderful ideas that were on display in the hall, but especially we say congratulations to the students for their delightful art works.
Rockdale PS would also like to say a big thank you to our dedicated P&C members for the delicious morning tea on offer. They raised close to $300 with the morning tea stall. These ladies gave much of their time before and after the day to support our Open Day and Art Expo. It couldn’t have been achieved without them.
